Mr Kent qualified from NUI Galway 1990. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 1995 and a Wellcome Trust Vision Research Fellowship from the University of Liverpool in 1997.
In 2001 Mr Kent was awarded a Diseases of the Retina and Vitreous Fellowship from the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA 1999-2001 and then completed a Surgical Retinal Fellowship at St Pauls Eye Unit, Liverpool University Hospital, 2002.
Mr Kent is currently working in private practice in The Vision Clinic Kilkenny and has operating privileges in Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny and Barrington’s Hospital, Limerick. Mr Kent is an Honorary Visiting Professor, Dept of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, and University of Florida, USA and also Honorary Research Fellow in Eye & Vision Science, University of Liverpool.
