On April 21st, on a glorious sunny Saturday morning, Aut Even Hospital hosted a GP Study morning in The Lyrath Hotel. Twenty Consultants took part in the event which was organised to disseminate information and education to GPs in the South East region. Consultants from Dermatology, General Surgery, Geriatrics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pain Medicine, Plastic Surgery, Psychiatry, Rheumatology and Vascular Surgery spoke to GPs on a range of topics, via a range of forums, from round table discussions to workshops and presentations.
Engagement between GPs and Consultants was in abundance as they discussed such things as, accessibility to psychiatric services, the impact of chronic pain and the ‘worried well’ on the health service, new advancements in patient education and engagement, new research findings & trial studies, developments in surgical techniques, as well as the practical day to day skills of our Consultants and Surgeons.
The feedback from attendees has been very positive and the Hospital is determined to make this an annual event.
