Non Consultant House Doctor

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
• The post holder will work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, medical and non-medical to provide a seamless service for patients.
• Diagnose and treat patients under the direction of the consultant surgical and medical staff.
• Will document patients’ assessment, history and physical on admission and write appropriate follow up comments in case notes in line with the Assessment of Patient Policy.
• Will conduct daily re–assessment on in–patients as advised by the consultant and or nursing staff.
• Whilst on duty, will conduct three hourly ward visits to address any non-emergency requests by the Nursing or Multidisciplinary team.
• To carry a Dect Phone at all times while on duty and to response to each call in an efficient manner.
• Assist the Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in theatres and in emergencies assist in other theatres as required
• Work as part of the Pre-Assessment service

Eligible Criteria
• Applicants must be eligible to register with Medical Council of Ireland.
• Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary surgical team, experience within the surgical setting is desirable but not essential.
• Previous experience working within the Irish or UK Health System is advantageous.
• Up to date certification in ACLS with the ability to demonstrate leadership skills in the event of a medical emergency.
• Up to date PALS training would be an advantage.

The Purpose of the Post:
The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are:

Quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership.

Each candidate must:
• Be registered, or eligible for registration in the General Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by NMBI.
• Be a minimum of 5 years qualified and have 2 years previous experience within a surgical setting.
• Previous management experience or experience “acting up” in a similar role is essential
• Have completed a Management Course or commit to undertake same.
• Display evidence of continuing professional development.
• Demonstrate an awareness of HR policies and procedures and an in-depth knowledge of professional and clinical guidelines in relation to nursing practice, clinical practice and evidence based decision making.
• Have experience in change management
• Demonstrate experience of leading a continuous improvement programme within a surgical setting, previous experience using lean tools and methodology would be advantageous.
• Possess excellent Communication skills

Senior Medical Physiotherapist
Part Time (18 hours per week)
Fixed Term contract – 6 months

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a patient focused Physiotherapy Team. The post holder will be responsible for leading and providing physiotherapy care to medical patients at Aut Even in accordance with ISCP and WCPT core standards, guidelines and best physiotherapy practice.

The post holder will form part of a multi-disciplinary team of which the patient is the central focus.

Eligible Criteria:

BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent & must be registered with CORU or section 91 applicants must state CORU application number.
Minimum of five years clinical experience with a proven track record working with medical
Patients for example respiratory, neurological or mobility dysfunctional nature.

Experience working at senior level in a hospital based or multi-disciplinary team setting is advantageous
Additional membership of respiratory, care of the elderly clinical, falls or other related interest groups are advantageous.

Radiology Administrator
Full Time (37.5 hours flexible)

The role will involve the meeting and greeting patients attending the radiology department, registration of patient details, scheduling appointments and ensuing timely communication with all relevant stakeholders.

Role criteria:

• Previous administration experience within a fast paced customer facing environment is essential, previous medical experience is desirable.
• Have the ability to grasp IT systems quickly and efficiently, previous experience working with a RIS/PACS system is advantageous.
• Have excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively all relevant stakeholders.
